TOMS [by Hom] Bryant Hom is greatly inspired by Blake Mycoskie’s “One for One” TOMS shoe movement. In doing so, Hom started to hand paint and design pairs TOMS shoes for friends, family, and peers around his community to help support and raise awareness of TOMS (Shoes for Tomorrow.)
”…First of all I have to say I am kinda obsessed with TOMS shoes and wear them every day. From painting, I’ve pretty much was accustomed to having paint stains on all my clothes. I decided to paint my pair of old TOMS just for fun. I wore them everyday and the white canvas was starting to get a little dirty. I was pleasantly surprised when they turned out, looking completely new. More and more friends started to want me to paint their shoes. From then on, it seemed like everyone wanted a pair for themselves.”
“I was asked to participate in these “Style your Sole” events held by local TOMS retailers. Customers would purchase the shoe from the store and a panel of artists would hang out at the store all day. Paid by commission, one of the artists would customize your shoes for you on the spot.”
“Heritage Footwear and Apparel (Granite Bay, CA), Getta Clue Howe bout Arden and Downtown Plaza (Sacramento, CA), Nordstrom (Roseville, Los Angeles, CA), Madame Butterfly (Roseville, CA), and American Rag (Santa Monica, CA) are some of the stores that have asked me to participate in their events.” -Hom
Hom is very passionate about serving others and is very happy to support TOMS. Through TOMS [by hom], individuals are allowed to express their own unique personality through their own custom painted shoe made solely for them, while supporting a good cause!
